Meet Jordan!
We recently invited you to join the Justice Circle as our 100th member—and we had a great response! The Justice Circle is our monthly giving group that honors donors who establish recurring gifts to CEJ. CEJ was incredibly lucky to have many donors join the call to be part of the Justice Circle, and had two members join simultaneously as our 100th member! It was too close to call, so we’ll meet them both over the next few days.
Today, you get to meet Jordan Schoonover. Jordan is an associate at McDowell Rackner Gibson PC. Jordan’s practice focuses on energy, environmental, and telecommunications law. She provides regulatory and transactional advice and representation in related litigation to clients throughout the West and Alaska.
Jordan has been a champion or advocate level donor to CEJ since she started giving in 2016, but we wanted to hear why Jordan decided to join the Justice Circle this year. Here is what she said: “I had actually been thinking about joining the Justice Circle for a couple of years, so the opportunity to become the 100th member was just the reminder I needed to make it happen!”
Talking about giving helps! If you give, we encourage you to keep talking to your peers about why you give to CEJ and why access to justice is important, and we can expand our circle of donors.
Jordan’s firm, MRG, also has a long history of support for CEJ. They encourage their attorneys to donate and they match associate contributions up to $500. Jordan says that “MRG’s enthusiasm for CEJ spurred my first donation, and the firm match pushed me to donate more than I otherwise might have.”
We encourage attorneys to ask if their firm or organization supports a match, or might consider doing so!
Thank you Jordan and welcome to the Justice Circle!
We’ll leave you with a final thought from Jordan: “It makes sense to support our hard-working colleagues at legal aid so that they can help as many people as possible.”
